So this morning, I had to arrive to school very early to attend my weekend elective course, Women in Leadership. Because this is a particularly bizarre weekend in terms of how I am to travel back and forth to school, due to station closings and stuff like that, I had to make different arrangements than my normal mode of transportation.
So when I went to bed last night I knew I had to get up at 6 am and leave by 6:45am just to be able to get to school in a flexible amount of time. I worried about if I would catch an uber this early on a Saturday morning..... I prayed to God, please let someone be working in the area. AND I FOUND ONE! I'm like thank ya Lord! Blessing #1.
So being up in the hills of Oakland and having Sprint, my service isn't all that great and I wasn't sure if my uber driver would be able to find me because the connection kept being lost. Luckily, he was still able to get to me. So I get in the car and tell him I need to go to one of the BART stations, and he proceeds to head me in that direction. So as we're talking he asks me what I was doing this early and I told him about my school and he asked me if it was in Oakland. I replied and told him it was actually in San Francisco and he says to me, "I'm actually going into San Francisco. I can end the trip at the BART and take you if you want." Blessing #2. I told him that would be great if he didn't mind. He says to me, "I'm just trying to be a good Samaritan today."
So he continues driving and talking to me as we're getting across the Bay Bridge with no traffic whatsoever and he asked me once across where the school is and I let him know. He replies to me, "Hey that's actually near where I'm going. I live right near there. It's right on the way! I can drop you right off there." Blessing #3
I got to school super early and in a very reasonable amount of time.
So I told you all of this but I didn't even mention the most important part of all... His name.
Ya'll know there's a Word in it.
God knew what I was worried about. He answered my prayer, provided all of my needs and he sent Jesus to get me to where I needed to go.
I swear the Lord never leaves me or forsakes me.
** Because of the kindness and the courtesy that this uber driver showed me, I went ahead and paid for the entire fare although he wasn't intending to charge me. **
